Meet Doug Jones At Peach Jam!
It’s about that time folks. Peach Jam Jubilee June 27th featuring Doug Jones! (Estimated time of arrival approximately 11:00 am).
Doug will spend a couple of hours in our community! Look for the Democratic Party of Chilton County exhibit booth (Booth #34). Arrive as early as possible to grab a T-shirt, yard sign and any other Doug Jones merchandise! We will be taking pictures, so PLEASE make sure you arrive early for a photo op. Most importantly, don’t miss your chance to meet him, ask him the tough questions, or give him a word of encouragement.
The Chilton County Democratic Party used to have the ear of the entire state of Alabama. What happened? Find out how and what you can do to bring the Democratic Party back to life in Alabama.
This election is more important than perhaps any state election we’ve seen in recent history.
This is our year. Now is our time to secure the FUTURE of Alabama. Why do you think Tommy Tuberville is trying so hard to stay on the ballot? He is being pushed by the National Republican MAGA Party and Donald Trump. Why? Because they realize how much of an impact it would be if they LOSE Alabama. It’s the domino effect.
Let’s get involved. For once, we need to see ALABAMA lead the charge to change this rigged game. We can. But we MUST want to change it. We all have seen just how far the elite majority party in Montgomery will go to rig the game. Even our own elected Secretary of State Wes Allen is in the fight against Alabama’s constitution.

Our next push is recruiting volunteers to Dial for Doug! It’s a marathon, not a sprint between now and November but we’d like to get as many as possible trained and ready to start dialing. Our Governor just voided Alabama’s elections!
A Message From Doug Jones:
Our Governor just voided several of Alabama’s primary elections.
Thousands of voters across several counties in Alabama will have their votes thrown out and need to vote again.
People took time off work. They found childcare. They stood in line. They did what every one of us is asked to do in a democracy: they voted. And with a stroke of a pen, our Governor wiped those votes away.
We can’t let this stand. It does not matter whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, or neither. It does not matter who you supported in those races. What matters is that Alabamians cast ballots, and those ballots were supposed to count.
So this election is about more than the Governor’s office. It’s about whether the people of Alabama get to have elections at all. Cause if we’ve got a governor who can simply cancel elections she doesn’t like, what guarantee do we, the people of Alabama, have that our elections will stand at all?
The only way we can win against this kind of power grab is by winning undeniably. We have to show up everywhere we can: in every town, every county, every district, every church basement, every union hall, every living room, every campus, every neighborhood where folks have been told their voices do not matter. We have to organize so clearly, so loudly, and so completely that no politician in Montgomery can pretend not to hear us.
And to do that, I need your help. So I’m humbly asking you to chip into my campaign. Even $10 goes a long way.

SB360 threat, HB275 opportunity
You may be up to speed already on SB360 and HB475, but if not, here’s a brief description from Energy Alabama:
Two bills. Two very different futures for your Alabama Power bill.
SB360 — the “Power to the People Act” — sounds promising. But buried inside it is a provision giving the Governor’s hand-picked Secretary of Energy control over the PSC’s agenda and personnel. That’s not power to the people. That’s a backdoor political takeover of utility regulation. We beat HB 392 to protect your vote. We’re not handing that power to a new government official now.
HB475 is the real deal. It requires rate hearings under oath, reduces Alabama Power‘s outrageous profit margins, and bans them from charging you for their lobbying and political activities. Real oversight. Real relief.
Your legislators need to hear from you right now!
The Senate has passed SB360 and it’s in the House. If passed there, the law will require a PSC transition from three to seven elected members—but that transition will begin with four July appointments by Kay Ivey; that means a 7-0 GOP Commission at least until January. And even if Dems win both PSC seats on the ballot in November, the best we’d see until the 2028 election would be a 5-2 GOP commission.
Following are two legislative contact links provided by Energy Alabama. I urge you to spread word about the immediate need to ask House members to vote NO on SB360 and YES on HB475. Our hopes to win a 2-1 PSC majority November 3 and real regulatory change depend on it!

YMCA Swim Lessons
The Chilton County Democratic Party and Chilton County YMCA are partnering again to offer a Youth Water Safety and Swim Course for beginners, aged 4-14, June 2026. The past two summers we have sponsored a total of eighty children, who have greatly benefited by learning life long survival skills in and around water. Our goal is to enroll sixty children from the many communities in Chilton County.
